SOME THINGS I KNOW FOR SURE!

Today I turn 41
and as I get older
LIFE gets better!
1988 I think, 3rd from the right bottom line, Northam High School.
 Something I know for sure
ME TIME is massively important, and
is A MUST in my life!

That money can not buy you happiness!
But having enough to pay bills, buy special treats and be comfortable helps stress levels A LOT!

That sometimes LIFE just sucks and that is just the way it is, and,
sometimes LIFE is so amazingly awesome and that is just the way it is!
And even though you never, ever understand why at the time, you just need to
ROLL WITH THE PUNCHES
because it all comes out in the wash eventually!

That I am my fittest and healthiest I have ever been in my life
and THAT ROCKS!
That becoming a vegetarian was the best decision I have made for my health and well being EVER!

That time FLIES and I want to live a minimum of another 41 years,
happy, healthy and in love!

That setting awesome goals and achieving them is the best feeling.

That I love these guys to the moon and back, BUT,
sometimes they can rip my heart apart and,
sometimes they are so darn cute I just want to stare at them all day long!

That I could not bare a life without my gorgeous pets.

When Max passed away last November I was lost and devastated,
to the point that it was almost unbearable.
He bought me so much love over the 16 years of his life, he was my constant,
my very best friend in life, no matter how grumpy I was or how happy I was,
he loved me every minute of every day.
Pets are the best!

And that the best is yet to come!
BRING IT ON I SAY!

Yay to being 41 years young, I am loving this journey I am on.

Noticing how much I love this guy!
 Enjoying my favorite breakfast....
Scrambled eggs with fetta and spinach YUMMO!
And
Had the best time creating a special pressie for a special person
in the Op Shop Swap (will post more about that shortly).

WE HAVE ADOPTED!

A beautiful baby girl called Jazzy.....
And,
We couldn't be happier.
The call went out from Safe in Perth that this beautiful girl called Suki
had spent a month in the pound up at Northam and if she
wasn't taken in quick smart would be put to sleep forever!
I just couldn't bare the thought!
So a few phone calls later and one wet and dreary Friday night we
drove down to Swan Vet Clinic where we organised to meet the Ranger
and our gorgeous little adoptie!
Our first meeting.

First things first was a change of name, Suki just didn't work with us and
we wanted her to have a fresh start, so Jazzy was it!
She is my little shadow.
She crafts with me, she sews with me, she hangs washing out with me, she comes to the toilet with me and I reckon if I let her she would shower with me.
But
even though she is Mummies girl,
we all love her to bits.
She is smoochy, smoochy, smoochy.
She loves to watch the boys play footy.
She loves the sun roof in the car.
And we all can not believe how lucky we are to have her in our lives.
Not only do they have dogs needing fostering or adopting but there is also cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, birds and all sorts of animals needing homes.
Safe is such an awesome group and is always on the lookout for people to
help with fostering, adopting, checking homes, transport and the like, so if you can help please check them out it is such a worthwhile cause and
why wouldn't you want to SAVE AN ANIMAL FROM EUTHANASIA

PYJAMA PARTY

I am beside myself with happiness.

Not because my boy was home this weekend and I love him to the moon and back,
although that does make me very happy...........

Not because he has told me he wants to come back home, which makes me extremely happy......

 BUT.....

Because......

I made these awesome PJ's!

Aren't they the coolest????

Now I know it may look that he wasn't too excited modelling these absolutely AWESOME PJ's,
but
let me tell you a little secret....
That toosh was wiggling and this little stud muffin was lovin' the fun,
prior to the camera coming out.

So after grunging the pics up a little to make him look pretty cool, here is one with real colour,
teamed with a cheap Big W T shirt which cost around $7.00
I think they make the best PJ's in the world.
Thanks for your help Jody..... YOU ROCK!
P.S There is a little pic of me with my gorgeous little cushions here if you want to take a peek

PINCUSHION PIMP

I have already confessed to being a buttonoholic!
Something I am most proud of and delight in every moment I can.

BUT
I have further issues......
and I am not sure people will understand!

But,  I am an honest girl and as such
am going to let you in on another little secret.

I **HEART** PINCUSHIONS!
Even better, I can indulge in some button loving and sharing while making cute little pincushions.
How lucky am I!
P.S. I also glued the beads on the pins as well, clever me!

There, I have done it, bared my soul and the sky is still blue and the moon doth shine!
Phew!
The problem now is that my Op Shopping expeditions include not only searching high and low for buttons but, gorgeous little containers are also at the top of the list....

Check these little beauties out.
I couldnt resist that little egg cup there with the orange and blue trim on the base.
The dear old lady behind the counter told me it was very special and was Delft pottery???
Never heard of it before, maybe someone reading this can enlighten me otherwise
my dear friend google tends to know the answers, when I have a second I will check it out.

I HAVE A CONFESSION TO MAKE!

 My name is Michelle

And I am a buttonoholic!
Please don't hold it against me, my intentions are good.

I love plastic buttons, patterned buttons, metal buttons, diamante buttons, colourful buttons,
vintage buttons, modern buttons, fabric covered buttons, glass buttons, flower buttons, shaped buttons, round buttons, striped buttons, chicken shaped buttons, dog shaped buttons, pearl buttons, pastel buttons, small buttons, big buttons, odd buttons, ugly buttons and cute buttons.
I LOVE THEM ALL.

What is really cool as well, is finding gorgeous little boxes and containers to hold my many buttons.
Cute containers ROCK!

I promise to love and to cherish each and every one til death do us part!

Flea Market Find

I found this absolutely adorable tea set and the Good Sammy's the other day.
It is absolutely beautiful.
And....
Even better
It is a Johnson,
oh how I love my ever increasing collection of Johnson's China.

I must say I felt very posh sipping my tea out of this yesturday.

It is from the Snow White collection but after much scouring of the net over the weekend
I cannot find any more info about the design.

Have you seen this before, can you help me out?????

If anyone has got any information on this design I would be ever so grateful.

Linking up with more awesome flea market finds here....

FOSTER PARENTS

We have a foster baby.
Her name is Jazzy.
The call went out,  her time was limited.
30 days in jail already, she needed a home desperately.
We couldn't resist.
We are in love!
It was meant to be.
We took her to watch our boys play footy yesturday, she loved the car, she loved the game.
We are a match made in heaven, like cheese and crackers, bangers and mash!
She is the best!
Go check out SAFE Perths facebook page for more gorgeous animals needing homes.

CROCHET AND SOUP IS THE BEST MEDICINE

I have been absolutely pooped this week.
Thought it might have been just an overload and a few good night sleeps and all would be good.
Unfortunately not!
My throat feels like it has razor blades inside of it and my nose is red raw from blowing it all day long.
I had big plans for heading to Perth Brown Owls Sunday afternoon, was oh so looking forward to it.
Anyways,
what more is a sick girl to do but throw a big pot of veggie soup goodness on and
sit and crochet.

This is one of those chop it all up and throw it all in kinda numbers.
Firstly I sauteed onion, garlic and a leek.
Then threw in the chopped carrots, potatoes, celery, zucchini, sweet potatoes, pumpkin and capsicum.

Added lots of water, a can of crushed tomatoes, lots of freshly cracked pepper, a great big shake of mixed herbs and some Buddah's Brew Seasoned Salt.

I let that simmer for a while and then about 15 minutes before serving time, I added
  • a can of lentils, rinsed
  • a can of chikpeas, rinsed
  • some freshly sliced beans, and
  • about a cup and a half of freshly rinsed quinoa
and Wah - Lah!
The most delicious chunky veggie soup, EVA!
And, even better, I have enough left over for dinners throughout the week.

All of this was followed up with a crochet chaser!

Just what the Doctor would order I reckon!

ONE FOR THE BIRDS!

 Pinned here

Pinned here

These little nesting balls are so stinking cute!

So far I have been throwing out my little ends of wool, having forgotten this gorgeous little idea I spotted on pinterest.
But last night I gathered up all the little bits I had around the place, washed up a coffee jar

And I am now officially collecting bits for the birds.
