MY CREATIVE SPACE

I have been champing at the bit to show this on my blog.
I joined in on the Op Shop Swap hosted by
Jody Pearl from Re-Inventing fashion blog and Sew Outiside the Lines on Facebook.
I was over the moon with my swap partner Zaranne and feel we were a match made in heaven.
Zaranne loves organic gardening, vintage fabrics, recylcing and reusing.  Right up my alley!
My head was a spin for days,  with ideas galore,
but in the end I decided on a gardeners apron with pockets full of little treasures.

The apron was made from a thrifted denim dress
and the binding was a gorgeous vintage child's skirt that was absolutely adorable,
and I have had it in my stash for ever,  waiting to use for something special just like this.
The pockets were cut from thrifted jeans and I used the belt tabs for to tie stockings on for securing vegetables and holding the vintage scissors.

I included a gorgeous little stone heart.
One of the pockets held a mixture of vegetable seeds, perfect for winter sowing and spring eating and the other had a packet of native wildflowers.

And I engraved silver spoons with the names of different vegetables
to be used as markers in the garden.

This was so much fun to make and I was tickled pink with how well it came out.
So looking forward to the next swap!

PYJAMA PARTY

I am beside myself with happiness.

Not because my boy was home this weekend and I love him to the moon and back,
although that does make me very happy...........

Not because he has told me he wants to come back home, which makes me extremely happy......

 BUT.....

Because......

I made these awesome PJ's!

Aren't they the coolest????

Now I know it may look that he wasn't too excited modelling these absolutely AWESOME PJ's,
but
let me tell you a little secret....
That toosh was wiggling and this little stud muffin was lovin' the fun,
prior to the camera coming out.

So after grunging the pics up a little to make him look pretty cool, here is one with real colour,
teamed with a cheap Big W T shirt which cost around $7.00
I think they make the best PJ's in the world.
Thanks for your help Jody..... YOU ROCK!
P.S There is a little pic of me with my gorgeous little cushions here if you want to take a peek

PINCUSHION PIMP

I have already confessed to being a buttonoholic!
Something I am most proud of and delight in every moment I can.

BUT
I have further issues......
and I am not sure people will understand!

But,  I am an honest girl and as such
am going to let you in on another little secret.

I **HEART** PINCUSHIONS!
Even better, I can indulge in some button loving and sharing while making cute little pincushions.
How lucky am I!
P.S. I also glued the beads on the pins as well, clever me!

There, I have done it, bared my soul and the sky is still blue and the moon doth shine!
Phew!
The problem now is that my Op Shopping expeditions include not only searching high and low for buttons but, gorgeous little containers are also at the top of the list....

Check these little beauties out.
I couldnt resist that little egg cup there with the orange and blue trim on the base.
The dear old lady behind the counter told me it was very special and was Delft pottery???
Never heard of it before, maybe someone reading this can enlighten me otherwise
my dear friend google tends to know the answers, when I have a second I will check it out.

I HAVE A CONFESSION TO MAKE!

 My name is Michelle

And I am a buttonoholic!
Please don't hold it against me, my intentions are good.

I love plastic buttons, patterned buttons, metal buttons, diamante buttons, colourful buttons,
vintage buttons, modern buttons, fabric covered buttons, glass buttons, flower buttons, shaped buttons, round buttons, striped buttons, chicken shaped buttons, dog shaped buttons, pearl buttons, pastel buttons, small buttons, big buttons, odd buttons, ugly buttons and cute buttons.
I LOVE THEM ALL.

What is really cool as well, is finding gorgeous little boxes and containers to hold my many buttons.
Cute containers ROCK!

I promise to love and to cherish each and every one til death do us part!

ON THE HOOK

I have a few things on the hooks at the moment and
loving every stolen minute I can find
crocheting up a storm.
The past week was a little quiet with the crochet as my head was full of the flu
and I felt dreadful but, am slowly feeling better and the energy levels are certainly increasing
so this is what I am working on at the moment.
This is going to be a blankie for my youngest.
Unfortunately he has decided he wants to live with his father and we miss him terribly, so this is the start of a blanket for him, my version of a hug
as I can't always be there to give him one in real life now,
he can wrap himself up in it over winter and keep himself cozy and warm
and know that I am thinking about him always!
My first 2 bullseye squares,
they are a little tricky and take a bit of thinking,
hence why not much has happened this week as my head was too foggy for thinking.
But loving, the colours and how awesome they look once finished.
And....
The beginnings of a ripple blanket,
rippling is just so therapeutic,
it is so, so portable and I love that I can ripple without thinking too much,
great for when I am stuck in traffic jams or bored at the traffic lights,
and I have even been known to ripple at the footy!
I love to ripple!!!

ONE FOR THE BIRDS!

 Pinned here

Pinned here

These little nesting balls are so stinking cute!

So far I have been throwing out my little ends of wool, having forgotten this gorgeous little idea I spotted on pinterest.
But last night I gathered up all the little bits I had around the place, washed up a coffee jar

And I am now officially collecting bits for the birds.
